The building is located in an area of new housing development in Mullingar. Among the first of the communities facilities to be provided in the area, the centre seeks to create an embracing and secure environment within the unfinished suburban surroundings. 

A centre for up to 70 children, it comprises a square plan form with the two sides of activity room accommodation overlooking a generous enclosed courtyard garden.
